My planning sheets for 2020

12 week planning sheet bundle - 2020 goals and plans - 2020 free download planner - 2020 planning sheets

I present my planning sheets for 2020! OH man, I’m SO excited about these. These planning sheets help organize my mind from big audacious dreaming goals, to bite size pieces of tasks that will ensure it will become a reality. I designed them with my needs in mind, however, I know it could help someone else out there as well. So why not share the love?!

Last week I had a post ‘Why I’m not doing a New Years Resolution‘ and I described those reasons in that. If you haven’t read that post, it may be a good idea to check that out so that this post will make more sense.

The last week or so, I’ve had on my mind that I need to get my thoughts and plans for 2020 out on paper. But I wanted it to be legit. Not something I just scribble in my journal or a notebook. My mind kept me awake before bed with my ideas and so I sketched it out on my business notebook.

A few days ago, I make my sketches a reality! I am thoroughly enjoying how this came together, that I simply couldn’t keep it to myself! These planning sheets for 2020 will be crucial to keep me on focus this year!

Dreams & Goals

12 week planning sheets - dreams and goals

Ok so here’s the general idea and breakdown of each page.

The first page is the ‘Dreams & Goals’ page. This is where you write out all of your wildest, biggest, craziest dreams you’d like to achieve and do. Earn 1 million dollars? Write it down. Move to another country? Write it down. You get the idea. There’s also a space for a category – such as fitness, business, spiritual, etc. Whatever you want to classify it as! Then you have a timeline. Earn that 1 million in 10 years, 20? And a lovely check box next to that so in the future – you can satisfyingly mark that completed.

Long Term Plan

12 week planning sheets - long term plan

The second page is your long term plan. Here you’ll take three of those big dreams of yours and break it down a bit (or more if you want to print more pages!). Let’s run with the 1 million dollar example. How will you earn it? Starting a business? What business? Investing? In what? Write it down. Breaking it down helps you narrow your focus on that particular goal or goals.

12 Week Plan

The third page is your 12 week plan. We have three goals to focus on in those 12 weeks. You can only do one or two goals if that’s what you want to do. For me, three goals (in different areas or categories) is doable for me. Here you’ll break down that goal into your strategy. What will help you reach that goal in 12 weeks.

Let’s say your long term goal is the 1 million. In your 12 week plan, you want to get your business started that will get you on your path to the 1 million. Starting a business can be the goal. Applying for business licenses, writing out a business plan, getting inventory, etc will be your strategies to work on in the 12 weeks.

Weekly Plan

The fourth page is your weekly plan. Take the strategies from your 12 week plan and make it happen in the weekly plan. You’ll want to print 12 of these sheets for each week. Mark which days you get your strategies done. You can score yourself with how often you worked on a particular strategy under the ‘total’ column. Give yourself a goal in the ‘goal’ column. And then calculate your score percentage. There’s also a little note section at the bottom for any ideas you may want to jot down.

Daily Plan

The fifth page is my favorite page of all. I’ve been using a real paper planner for three years now and it’s been amazing for my mental clarity and focus. There’s something about writing it down and seeing it right there in front of me. A smartphone just doesn’t cut it for me in this regard.

The daily plan sheet was the main reason for making this whole idea happen. When I use my planner, I struggle with keeping my goals at the forefront of what I do. And I tend to get distracted easily and forget the tasks that will really get me to my goals and dreams.

On the daily plan sheet, you can write your goals you’re achieving for that 12 week time frame (or long term goals if you’d like!). I’ll be writing my 12 week goals in that area. Then I have the bite sized tasks that I need to get done (from my weekly plan) written out. Evert morning I will write these out so my intentions are on the right track.

Prioritizing Tasks, Explained

Another important piece of the daily plan is the priority level. I’ve talked a little bit about this in previous posts but here’s the general idea. Priority A tasks are the tasks that will get you to your goal. A tasks are HAVE TO’s. You’re goal is important, right? Then A tasks take that level of importance. B tasks are tasks you should do – but not critical to your goal. Finally C tasks are tasks that you’d like to do but not critical to your goal or something that HAS to get done that day.

Going with our 1 million dollar goal again; an A tasks would be to set up your business. Organizing your new office for your new business would be a B task. Going out to lunch with a friend to share all about your new business would be a C task.

A task : crucial to getting closer to your goal

B task : important but not necessary to your goal

C task : something you’d like to do, but isn’t crucial or important to your goal

12 Week Review

At the end of the 12 week plan, you will do a review and self assessment. Calculate your overall score from all of the weekly planning sheets. Write down what worked and what didn’t. Keep doing what did work for the next 12 weeks. Reassess what didn’t work and change your tactic for better success in the next 12 weeks.
