How to Weed Large Vinyl Decals

Sitting in front of a large vinyl sheet that is ready to weed is kind of intimidating. You just cut this big thing, and you don’t want to mess up and start over. Or waste all of that precious vinyl and money. Below I have a video on how to weed large vinyl decals. I show you how I weed my large decals and how to lessen your change of screwing it up.

In summary, here are the tips I recommend when weeding a large vinyl decal:

1 – Have a well lit area where you can see your cuts.

2 – Go slow and watch every piece of the design as you go. Ensure the design stays where it needs to be.

3 – Gather the weeded excess in your hand. DO NOT let it lay down on the design. You will be so sad.

4 – With dangly pieces, stick them up on the part you’ve already weeded. Don’t let them drag and catch or stick onto your design.
